The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land."
The Song of Solomon 2:11-12
Don't those verses perfectly capture what it feels like when spring finally comes?
No more snow, (although I do love snow...) no more long, cold nights. No more short, cold days.
No more hats, and gloves, and scarves; just you and the flowers!
Spring has come ahead of schedule where I live, and I couldn't be happier!
I used to say that winter was my favorite season, (don't ask why) but, I have since changed my mind.
Now, I would most definitely say that it's spring! (when else do we get to have pink trees?)
It's not nearly as hot as summer, and a bit warmer than fall; so I'd say that it's just about right.
And dare I say that even, spring cleaning, can be fun? I was actually (surprisingly) ready and willing, when the time came to clean up the yard, and get rid of all of the ugly dead leaves and things; to make room for all of the, pretty, living things!
(like my cat!)
So, I guess the moral of the story is that, even though winter is long, and cold, spring is just around the corner. (except if you live in the arctic...because if you do then I am very sorry, and I didn't mean to offend)
And along with that, spring also means, new things. New beginnings, new life, and new adventures!
Finally, I will leave you with this song, because it reminds me of spring, and it's titled, Hope; so I thought it was fitting.
P.S. I included a picture of my cat, because I'm pretty sure she is even more excited about spring than I am.
